MIA CULPA
Apologies to all for the confusion caused in handicapping of last week's Better Ball tournament, my fault and I hang my head in shame.
The handicapping should have been along the lines of the notice on this blog, however the tournament sheet, prepared by me prior to disappearing for a month stated 75% of average for each team. Let's call it a variation on a theme, not to be repeated.
I have gone over the cards of the leading teams submitted and applied both handicapping methods to each to assess the impact of this 'error' on the final results, surprisingly the answer is absolutely no impact at all on this occasion.
The winners therefore with a net 66 are John Barr and James Ross.
Time taken for the round has raised the question of whether or not we will be able to play this format again over the summer months, 3 ball groupings likely to be the maximum from now on and all players are requested to refresh their knowledge on Pace of Play in Section 1 - Etiquette - in the Rules of Golf.
Glad to be back and see you all on the course shortly.
