Results from the Senior Convenors Day Stableford Competition held on Thursday 18th July 2024

36 Seniors played in an individual Handicap qualifying Stableford on a cloudy, warm day which eventually saw the wind pick up slightly and a little rain falling. Seniors had a food booster of Pie, Beans and Chips once they finished their round.

 

Division One - 6 players in Sweep

Division Two - 18 players

1st - 39 pts Stephen Saunders £9.00

Two's Competition - only 1 recorded by Richard Barker on the 6th winning £17.50

The 3-Balls also competed for the Senior Convenor's prizes. There was a mixture of the best Nett scores recorded on the cards as well as some recording the best Stableford scores. I have looked through all the team scores and made them all Stableford. The "ChaChaCha" scoring had the best Stableford score on the 1st hole followed by the best 2 scores on the 2nd, then all the scores counting on the 3rd. This sequence was repeated over the 18 holes.

 

1st - 82 points - Donald Nairn, Brian Forrest and Richard Barker winning a bottle of Wine each.

2nd - 77 pts - Alan McHattie, Ian McGrath and Sandy Ogg winning a miniature bottle of Wine each.

3rd - 76 pts - John Tighe, Stephen Saunders and John Stewart winning a can of IPA beer.

Best Gross score was a 78 by James Falconer and Best Nett score was a 64 by Richard Barker  both winning a bottle of Wine. 

A can of IPA beer goes to the lowest Stableford score of 23 (poorer inward half) to Scott Murray.

All prize winners see the Senior Convenor (Keith) to claim your prize before he drinks them!!!!!!

Update of Senior Summer Knockout Competitions 2024

The Senior Singles has now reached the Quarter Final stage. These matches have to be played by the 11th of August 2024. First named challenger to offer 3 dates for the tie to their opponent asap.

Results for the Finlay Texas Scramble held on Monday 15th July 2024

13 Senior Gents joined up with the Ladies Section to compete in the Annual Finlay Texas Scramble. The sun eventually burnt through so we had a glorious day with no wind.

 

The Winners were -

Christine Bruce, Louise McCann, Steve Saunders and Sandy Ogg with a Nett 56.4

Runners Up -

Jane Douglas, Gwen Doe, Graham Haynes and Richard Barker on 57.4

8 strokes covered all 8 teams. Great golf.

12 Seniors booked to play and 9 Seniors did on a very blustery day with sunshine and showers. The Leitfie greens were slow and unfortunately the rabbits had been at them.

 

This event was scheduled due to the Centre being unable to give us our usual tee times due to the Scottish Golf Pairs Challenge being played this week. Saw that some Seniors were able to play bounce games early in the day. Next year we may be able to get tee times for the afternoon?
