Results for the Seniors Winter Stableford for Thursday 28th March 2024

Great numbers for our last Winter Stableford. 35 Seniors booked to play and 33 did in cold, breezy conditions. The rain held off for the morning starters but was heavier for the lunchtime Seniors.

I have the lunchtime scorecards to check yet but the preliminary results are-

 

Division One - 14 players

1st - 38 points Andrew Anderson winning £7.00

2nd - 34 pts Bih William Sinclair £4.50

3rd - 34 pts James Falconer £2.50

 

Division Two -  19 players.

1st - 39 pts Michael "2 Phones" Offen £9.50

2nd - 36 pts Sandy Ogg £6.30

3rd -34 pts Bih John Stewart £3.20

Two's competition. 

Only one was recorded by "Phones" Offen on the 4th. Well played Mike.

Next week, the 4th April, is the Seniors Opening Day Stableford. Our Summer teetimes move forward, so 08.45 next week. Turn up early to get your Bacon Roll and Coffee. (same for morning and 12.15 lunchtime starters).

Hopefully the Full Course will be in play with bunkers. Therefore, it will be a  Handicap Qualifying competition. Please read the Rules especially in relation to what information has to be on the Scorecard and remember to sign your cards.

Senior Winter Stableford Draw for Thursday 28th March 2024

 IMPORTANT !

At the Centre Management meeting last Friday, the Head Greenkeepers Report strongly indicated that Senior golfers were responsible for the failure to repair pitch marks on the greens. His observations indicated that the greens had been hand cut on the Thursday morning, but on Friday morning much damage was observed on the greens. He posted the course diary for Thursday showing that only TWO Guest teetimes were out that day. There were some other members teetimes.

PLEASE TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR PITCH MARKS ON THE GREENS AND REPAIR THEM !

REMINDER !

To compete in Club competitions, Seniors must have paid their fees to the Club. This £30.00 fee is seperate from Centre annual fees (Cash or Direct Debits). This Club fee pays for Scottish Golf Affiliation, golf insurance and Handicap Administration costs. I am aware that some Seniors have not paid this as this time. So please pay now.

28 Seniors booked to play and 23 did in very cool, windy conditions. 15 Summer greens were on with holes 1.3 and 6 on Winter greens. Bunkers were out of play. Winter tees were played off of.

 

Division One had 10 players.

1st - an impressive 39 points - Brian Duncan winning £5.00

2nd - 36 pts Alan McHattie £3.30

3rd - 34 pts Bih Michael Stiell £1.70

Division Two - 13 players.

1st - 36 pts John Stewart £6.50

2nd 34 pts Bih Michael Offen £4.30

Two's Competition - 3 were recorded sharing £11.50 + 3p C/F = £3.84 each with 1p C/F

Results for the Senior Winter Stableford Thursday 14th March.

Due to the weather, it was agreed, prior to play, to restrict the competition to 12 holes. 

I did not realise ( I should have!) that the competition was set up using the “Gents Winter Card”. Since we all happily went on our way with Gents Summer Cards in our hands I resubmitted the scores to HowDidIDo. Interestingly, either way, the winners would have been the same. There were 16 Summer greens in play and the playing Handicap was set at 85%.

30 players booked in to the competition and 23 played on the day. The rain, although persistent, was not as bad as was forecast.

Senior Gents 2024 Single and Doubles Knockout Competitions now open for entries. CUT-OFF 14/04/2024

 Hi Seniors.

You can now enter your name, via either How Did I Do app (Knockouts) or on the Centre PSI, for our 2024 Singles and Doubles Matchplay competitions.

Entries are a £1.00 for each competition. Put your envelope with your name, competition/s entered and the amount you are paying (with the MONEY)  into the SENIORS box by the cut off date of Sunday 14th April 2024.

PLEASE NOTE - the Doubles Matchplay is a blindly drawn pairing. Once all names are entered the blind draw will take place.

All draws, with the dates for each round to be played by, will be notified on the Seniorgents Blog and also placed on the Senior Noticeboard in the Centre Clubhouse.

Please also note that the Senior Opening Day is Thursday 4th April 2024. Coffee / Bacon Rolls available before start of play for both morning and lunch teetimes.
