The eagerly awaited and contested, Annual Ladies versus Gents Wooden Spoon Competition is due to be played this Sunday 3rd September 2023 with first tee time at 12.00.

Gents are vastly outnumbered by the Ladies at this time so please sign up asap.

Results for the Senior Texas Scramble held on Thursday 24th August 2023

23 Seniors booked to play but unfortunately there were two call offs apparantly due to the dreaded COVID. So take care out there.

 

All teams easily beat Nett par so well done all.

1st with a 60.9 were -

Robert Greig, Brian Campbell and Donald Gemmell winning £4.50 each.

Runners up with a 61.7 were -

Brian Duncan, Stewart Baillie and John Stewart all winning £2.50 each.

There was no 2's competition.

Senior results for the August Monthly Medal on Thursday 17th August 2023

40 players booked and 36 played. Players are reminded to remove their names prior to the draw if they have no intention of playing. Late withdrawals are to contact the Centre direct as I may not be there to administer any changes.

 

Division One had 23 players but only 22 in the Sweep.

Division Two had 13 players.

1st - 63 Brian Campbell £6.50.

2nd - 64 Antony Pleasance £4.00

Unfortunately two players were disqualified for failing to sign their cards. 

TWO's Competition - 8 were recorded but only 7 in the competition. One disqualified as above

Moving forward to the end of the season, I intend to split the Sweep into 3 divisions - Div One for handicaps up to 9, Div Two from 10 to 19 and Div Three for 20 and over. The intention is to reward the best gross score in a competition.

Senior Results for the Stableford on Thursday 10th August 2023

48 Seniors booked to play and 46 actually played on a very humid day with no wind. Scoring was tremendous with 20 players achieving PAR or better.

 

Unfortunately 3 players failed to sign their cards and one player returned 0 points (???? Stableford) and failed to return the scorecard so all are disqualified.

 

Division one - 29 players but only 28 in the Sweep.

Jack Scott is the Trophy winner with a better inward half of 33 Nett over John's 34.

TWO's - only 2 were recorded by Neil Rae and Gordon Wood, both on the 6th. They win £8.75 each.

Next weeks Draw will be slightly late due to me being late back from the South!

UPDATE on the Seniors Singles and Doubles - 

John Stiell is to play William McGregor, with Andrew Anderson playing Fred Barber in the Singles semi finals due to be played by the 27th August 2023.

Jim Henvey and Antony Pleasance play Neil Rae and John Stewart in the Doubles semi final with Donald Nairn and William McGregor v Raymond Pollock and Brian Duncan in the other match Doubles games to be played by the 20th August.
