Here is the draw for Thursday 2nd July

Here is the draw for Thursday 2nd July, unfortunately a little disjointed.
However those of you have your existing own tee times I have left you their and not included you in this draw. We will get back to a semblance of order next week.
There is NO competition fees for July, but if you wish to be included in the sweep and the 2's then please fill out YOUR OWN envelope with all the relevant info.
Post envelopes and scorecards in the secure box at the entrance way.
The scoring will happen on Friday ish!!!! Prior to the Sat competition this is to follow guidelines.
Thank you

Competitions are starting July 2nd (UPdated)

Good Morning everybody,
I hope that you have all been well through this trying time and that you are all keeping well and staying healthy.
Although there was limited response from the seniors, the feeling is that we would like the draw and the competitions to resume.
So the first Senior competition will be on Thursday July 2nd, it will be stableford for the first one of the new season.
  • Sign up will be through the e-mail address for the seniors, strathmoreseniors@gmail.com
  • alternatively text or call Mike Stiell on 07943 682573
  • The draw will be posted as usual on Tuesday at noonish
  • There will be no competition fees for July, but a £1.00 sweep and £0.50 two's will be optional.
  • If you wish to enter the sweep then please bring your money in an envelope with all details and place it in the seniors box which will be outside the entrance to clubhouse.
  • Bunkers are in play, but you get to move your ball by 6 inches no closer to the hole.
  • Keep your own scorecard but ensure that it is verified by your playing partner.
  • Social distancing and all other recommendations MUST be heeded as we are still in the Covid Phase 2.
  • After the round put your scorecard in the same senior box that you put your envelope in.
  • Scoring will happen within a day or 2 of the competition, (cards must be left for a minimum of 4 hours before any contact).
  • All monies will be taken and given a disinfectant bath before being reallocated to winners.
  • All the envelopes that I have are treated as well.
  • The scoring will be done through ClubV1 as per normal and you will be notified of the results.
  • Changes for the year. If there are more than 32 entries in any competition (not including medals), then the field will be split into 2 divisions based on handicap. That means that there will be 50% of the field in each division. The handicap split will depend on the players handicaps, so it could be over and above 18.
  • A fixture list has been posted on the notice boards in the club house.
  • The draw will be posted on the blog and on the day off the competition on the board. Please call Mike if you cannot make your allotted time, We need to do this for the track and trace as per government regulations.
  • All other golfing regulations as per the Covid advisory are in place (don't touch the flagpole etc)
If you have any questions then please contact Mike at the above mentioned details.
Keep it in the short stuff.

Welcome Back to Golf

Hello everyone,
I trust that this finds you all well and good and surviving the lockdown especially as we are eased a bit now.
It is great to be back golfing and excellent to see you at the golf course.
A big shout out to Scott and his crew for doing a magnificent job maintaining the course over the last 10 weeks.
I would like to bring up a few items here, as you know there are no competitions for the club during the month of June.
However we are looking to resume competitions in July;
A couple of things that I would like to get feed back on are;

IS EVERYONE STILL WANTING COMPETITIONS OR DO WE WISH TO JUST PLAY SOCIAL GOLF FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE YEAR?

IF WE DO WISH TO HAVE COMPETITIONS WHAT FORMAT? DO WE STILL HAVE THE MONTHLY MEDALS AND PICK UP THE OTHER COMPETITIONS FROM THE FIXTURE BOOK.

I SHOULD POINT OUT THAT ALL THE INTERCLUB MATCHES FOR THE YEAR HAVE BEEN CANCELLED ALONG WITH THE SENIOR AWAY DAY.

THERE WILL BE SOME LOGISTICAL PROBLEMS TO OVERCOME IF WE WISH TO HAVE COMPETITIONS, INCLUDING: SCORE ENTERING, MONEY PAYOUTS (IF ANY) IE SWEEP AND 2'S.  SCOTTISH GOLF HAS STATED THAT YOU CAN KEEP YOUR OWN SCORECARD AS LONG AS IT IS VERBALLY VERIFIED BY A PLAYING PARTNER.

IF WE DO COMPETITIONS DO WE WISH TO KEEP THE THURSDAY SLOT AND DO  A DRAW OR DO WE JUST BOOK OUR OWN TIMES AND ENTER OUR SCORE CARD ON A GIVEN DAY.

PLEASE REPLY TO THIS BY USING OUR DEDICATED E-MAIL ADDRESS OR BY CONTACTING      MIKE STIELL;   07943 682573
E-mail address is    strathmoreseniors@gmail.com

I look forward to hearing from you and seeing you all on the course.
