AGM - Motions for the 27th October 2017
Motions:
A) The Gents
Committee is proposing that there will be no afternoon competitions in the
seniors on a Thursday with the exception of the Seniors Monthly medals and the
3 cup trophies (Tam Bennett, Nick Pharr and Peter Tinker Trophies) in the afternoon.
This is due to the numbers participating.
B) To improve participation in the Events
that are played for during the season, I am proposing that we reduce the number
of “events” (what I mean by that is the Catlaw #6 etc). Going forward we as a
committee would pick 1 or 2 events during a month (or less) and push to make
these “special events” by improving prizes and possibly the format. Events in
the calendar that should be especially run with pride are the Captains day, the
Invitational, Season Opening and Closing. Other ones can be discussed.
Obviously certain events would sacrosanct, the Club Champs,
The Medals and others to be discussed. I am suggesting that we as a committee
strive to improve events by seeking sponsorship or looking at how we delegate
funds for these events.
I would also suggest that alternate playing methods be used,
Chapman (Greensome?) blind partners etc, I have a lot of suggestions for these.
I hope I am not out of line with this but it has been mooted
by others that participation could be better.
C) The proposal is to reduce the Club
Championship qualifying rounds from three to two and amend the fixture book
accordingly at 7.1

Gents Section AGM
Please note: Gents Section AGM is this Friday 27th October at 19:00
A good turn out of Seniors would be appreciated as Seniors make up a large proportion of club members.
