Result of Seniors Match v Grange & Broughty.
Today Strathmore Seniors welcomed Grange and Broughty to Strathmore.
The weather was kind to us and the course was in great shape despite yesterday’s heavy downpours. Credit must be given to our green keeping team. Our catering staff did their usual excellent job and a good day was had by all.
Great team effort from Strathmore winning the match 4-2.
Our next match is against Forfar Seniors at Forfar on the 17th September. Meet 11:30 first Tee 12:30. Sign up sheet will be on the notice board from Sunday. Please add your name to the list if you are available to play.
Following on from this we have an away Match v Kirriemuir on Friday 26th and our re-arranged match at Alyth on the 6th October. Sign up sheets for those games will be on the notice board nearer the time.
As Chris is away for the next two matches I will be deputising for him.
Ian Cameron.

Volunteers required for PGA National Fourball Finals.
Hi all
Hopefully you are already aware that the 2025 PGA UK National Fourball Finals are to be held at Strathmore – the first time in 26 years that the finals have been hosted in Scotland. This is a huge honour and accolade for everyone at Strathmore.
72 pairs of some of the United Kingdom’s best Professional Golfers will be fighting to be crowned the Fourball Champions. The Prize Pot stands at £35,000! There will definitely be some great golf being played over the 3-Day event.
PGA UK have asked if we could assist them in running the tournament by requesting help from our members during the days of Tuesday 19th, Wednesday 20th and Thursday 21st August. The various tasks have been listed as Starting, Live Scoring, Main Scoreboard, On-Course Scoreboard, Ball-Spotting and Leaderboard Carrying (final day only).
It is possible the we may need the assistance of up to 15 volunteers a day, so any help on any day would be greatly appreciated. Without such help, the tournament will not run smoothly and efficiently.
Needless to say, volunteers will be well fed and watered, and will also receive from us a Restaurant & Bar Voucher as a token of our gratitude. I don’t know if PGA UK will be issuing any ‘goodies’ to the volunteers.
Before I start piecing together a precise timetable and allocating tasks, I first need to know the names of those who are able and willing to assist, and their availability. To that end, if you are able to assist, could I please ask that you let me know which days, mornings and afternoons, that you are available.

If you have any queries or would like to discuss any aspect of the tournament please, don’t hesitate to contact me.
I look forward to hopefully hearing from you soon.
Kind Regards
David
