Due to only the front 9 holes being playable over winter greens, with no buggies, I have cancelled todays competition. No play on the back nine at all. More heavy rain forecast.

 Hope you will all be sober enough after your Xmas festivities to turn up and play on Thursday?

Anticipating some late entrants, so have included spare spaces at end of draw. If not taken up, will then form threeballs.

Results for Senior Winter Stableford on Thursday 21st December 2023

Played in a mixture of sunshine with a light shower and a stiff gusty breeze, 22 Seniors played out of the 28 that had booked.

Having made up the money envelopes before I left the Centre today, I came home to check all the cards and found that 6 or 7 Seniors had incorrectly entered their scores on the terminal. I will therefore need to recall some envelopes next Thursday and pay the correct winners.

Results for the Senior Turkey Trot / Prize Giving on Thursday 14th December 2023

Great to see a tremendous turnout of playing and non-playing Seniors. 38 players booked to play and 36 did. 7 Seniors just wanted the grub! maybe the wine (Hector)! The age range of the Seniors present was from age 51 to 94. 

 

The golf consisted of a three tee start on the 1st, 8th and 10th with players only playing 15 holes to ensure we all got in for our Xmas lunch and prize giving. We did not play the 16th, 17th or 18th.

 

Division One - 17 players with 15 in Sweep.

1st - Donald Nairn 33 points Bih winning £7.50

2nd - Fred Barber 33pts £5.00

3rd - Brian Duncan 32pts Bih £2.50

 

Division Two - 19 players with 18 in sweep.

1st and overall winner of the Butchers £30.00 voucher with 37 points - Graham Millar £9.00

2nd - Charles Scrimgeour 31pts Bih £6.00

3rd - Robert Adams 31 pts Bih £3.00

 

Two's competition - 6 2's were recorded all winning £2.75 each

13th - Jim Henvey ( 6 inch short of hole in one) and Brian Campbell.

The Senior Prize Giving saw vouchers presented by our Captain Mike Stiell for the Medal Competitions. Parker Crockard (age 94) presented the major trophies. Those not present can collect their vouchers from the Centre office. Prize list was -
